The Bank Job 06/13/08

The key word for this movie is safe. It's a safe movie. It's a sharp, effective thriller that acts within a proven genre: The Heist. This movie is perfect for a random trip to the movie theater with a bunch of different people. It has enough action, sharp editing, scandal and intrigue, and plot twists to satisfy mostly everyone. It never lags and always provides continuous action to the next scene. It's especially interesting because of its 'based on a true story' origins. Although some may wonder how successful the participants in the robbery actually were if their so-called attempts at damage control and secrecy were made into a major motion picture. The entire impetus of the robbery is to ensure the secrecy of Princess Margaret's caribbean trysts, which are subsequently revealed for the world to see in the first scene. I wonder how they first became publicized. The movie doesn't act as if they were. Anyway that topic is neither here nor there actually. Just some side dish musings. Overall this is an good addition to the Heist genre.
